As you may know, I have so many blogs right now that it's sometimes hard to keep track of what's going on and where. So, I am bringing all my current blogs to a halt. I'm not deleting them. But, I am folding them as of today. In their place, I have set up a new blog titled Nick Redfern's Fortean World.
Yeah, I know: it's hardly the most original or imaginative title, but it is accurate and to the point! So, from now on, while all my existing blogs will remain archived, here's the address for the new blog, Nick Redfern's Fortean World.
As you'll see, the design and style has not been completed yet, and there's no content yet either. But, bear with me, and over the next few days you'll see it start to develop its life and character!Nick Redfernhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07199813303416083671noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1113730077075582759.post-53329292924894057802011-09-06T11:13:00.000-07:002011-09-26T07:41:52.593-07:00MAJIC EYES ONLY: UFOs & Strange Deaths<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 214px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJW0bNqhxM0gcmuGdprGDmEolbu3iXckeoGAL9aMRFLQ60MPkpxN32rRIejLZPnpYQ8JOPHAw7RT3p-eDAs8YuXPkMp-r3IaBXd74OWRrLeDNbK0uyZ1v6rIvCawzBVgdsk6ruHGDvg2s/s320/MEO.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5649318031780077506" />Within the world of Ufological science-fiction, story-lines of people being killed, assassinated, or dying under mysterious circumstances - when specifically seeking the truth about UFOs - abound.

Indeed, one only has to look at TV shows like The X-Files, The Invaders, Fringe, and Dark Skies to see that such on-screen scenarios absolutely abound.

But, what of the real world?

Have UFO researchers, journalists, military personnel, and government officials actually been murdered to hide the truth about UFOs?

Some say: "Yes!"

One of those who has commented deeply on such issues is Ryan S. Wood, the respected author of the book MAJIC EYES ONLY: Earth's Encounters with Extraterrestrial Technology. Wood's book is the definitive study of reports of UFO crash/retrieval events spanning more than a century and countless countries.

Wood cites the curious and controversial circumstances surrounding the death of 1950s/1960s journalist and TV personality Dorothy Kilgallen - well-known for her comments on crashed UFOs and her deep quest to seek out the truth concerning the November 22, 1963 assassination of President John F. Kennedy, an event itself also deeply connected to the UFO controversy.

MAJIC EYES ONLY also highlights the curious set of circumstances that occurred in the waters of Maury Island, Tacoma, Washington State, in the summer of 1947.

As the story goes, a UFO reportedly exploded in the sky, raining debris down upon the harbor - and on those unfortunate to be aboard a nearby boat, too, injuring a child and killing a dog.

But that was not all. n the immediate wake of the event, two military personnel who were engaged in transporting a selection of the debris for official study died when their aircraft mysteriously exploded en-route to its final destination. The strange material, unsurprisingly, vanished. Sabotage and cold-blooded murder? Many believe so...

And this is just the tip of a very large and disturbing interstellar iceberg.

As Ryan Wood's MAJIC EYES ONLY clearly demonstrates, the crashed UFO issue can, at times, truly be considered a deadly one. The secrecy stakes really are that high...

Check out Ryan Wood's book, MAJIC EYES ONLY: Earth's Encounters with Extraterrestrial Technology, which is the definitive guide to UFO events of the crashed kind.

And here's the publisher's information on Ryan Wood's book, which, for crashed UFOs devotees, makes for essential reading:

MAJIC EYES ONLY is the most authoritative and comprehensive chronicle ever published on the subject of worldwide UFO crashes and subsequent military retrievals from 1897 to the present. The author guides the reader through 74 UFO crash incidents supported by compelling evidence in the form of official documents, eyewitnesses and in some cases physical evidence.

Since 1984, multiple sources have leaked, revealed or discovered some 3,500 pages of UFO documents, hundreds classified Top Secret and linked to Majestic-12. These MJ-12 documents, coupled with the Leonard Stringfield data and strong investigations by other case experts, provide a powerful core of UFO crash incidents.

The idea that major governments have covered up the true nature of the UFO phenomenon for more than half a century through unprecedented secrecy, deception and intimidation strikes many reasonable citizens as preposterous. Yet, this book provides a wealth of evidence, including declassified and leaked government documents and credible eyewitness testimony, that supports the uncomfortable truth of this "preposterous" notion.

Majic Eyes Only is the Top Secret security classification for overwhelming proof of the most deeply held secret on the planet: we are not alone in the universe. Furthermore, several major governments have captured and exploited both extraterrestrial spacecraft and living aliens, for purposes that may sometimes defy understanding but which undoubtedly include the relentless quest for military supremacy and the preservation of society's established power structures.

On March 5, 1942 Chief of Staff General George C. Marshall created an inflection point in history by issuing a Top Secret memorandum to President Roosevelt that inaugurated one of the most secret enterprises the world has ever seen: the Interplanetary Phenomenon Unit (IPU). The existence of the IPU is not speculation; it has been acknowledged in several Freedom of Information Act requests. It was within the IPU that re-investigation of the 1897 Aurora, Texas UFO crash retrieval began, along with investigation of two UFO crashes that occurred in February 1942, one in the mountains of San Bernardino, California, and the other just off the Southern California coast - all of this years before Roswell.

MAJIC EYES ONLY is a landmark synthesis and review of every credible UFO crash retrieval event uncovered worldwide to date. Assembling data from his own research and numerous other investigators, including crash retrieval pioneer Leonard Stringfield, the author presents 74 UFO crashes from 1897 to the present, supported by compelling evidence in the form of official documents, eyewitnesses and in some cases physical evidence. Incidents do vary in quality, evidence, and therefore authenticity. However, any reader who starts from a neutral position will find, by the end of this book, that there is sufficient evidence to conclude that: 1) UFOs have crashed on earth, 2) governments have recovered and exploited these alien technology gifts and 3) most disturbing to a democratic free society, the "alien secret" is more important than constitutional or individual rights.Nick Redfernhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07199813303416083671noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1113730077075582759.post-9970823684306564392011-05-23T06:21:00.000-07:002011-05-23T06:22:48.822-07:00Commenting on The InvadersFor those of you who may be interested in such things, at Robbie Graham's Silver Screen Saucers blog, you can find a new post from me on what I consider to be the finest piece of on-screen science-fiction: The Invaders.Nick Redfernhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07199813303416083671noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1113730077075582759.post-5920365335308195412011-02-07T10:51:00.000-08:002011-02-07T11:00:18.013-08:00NASA, McKinnon & MoreIssue 4 of UFO MATRIX magazine includes an article from Richard Thomas titled "Is There A Secret Space Program?" and which, in part, focuses on NASA; the British computer-hacker, Gary McKinnon; H.G. Wells' War of the Worlds; Orson Welles' radio-version of Wells' classic science-fiction novel; and much more that revolves around the often-connected worlds of secrecy and science-fiction.

Here's an extract from the article:

"McKinnon’s suggestion that NASA and its 2004 'vision' to return to the Moon by 2020 (over 50 years after the Apollo 11 landing!) could just be a cover for a much more advanced and deeply clandestine or 'black' space program might sound like just another conspiracy theory but McKinnon isn’t the first to advocate such a hypotheses. The concept of a secret space program first gaining some prominence in 1977 when the UK’s Anglia Television (now ITV Anglia) broadcast the now infamous Orson Welles War of the Worlds-style hoax documentary: Alternative 3. The plot, of which, revolved around a global conspiracy to resettle missing scientists onto the Moon and Mars in preparation for an imminent environmental cataclysm."Nick Redfernhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07199813303416083671noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1113730077075582759.post-41866781666840579692010-10-26T05:48:00.000-07:002010-10-26T05:51:10.183-07:00Doomwatch<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 114px; height: 160px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiwEMzLEepcvjyNVeqApHrvNSXarBCS117z9D87zDleWeWgNVkzCToZhmPfpj91LbCV7VH58n0Np4EEHnzfwlYw-mxi89lLjEd_zZwZ5tBYWbuLwOkc7ybtJcjsHn9iwchSYNVR7Jhy4c8/s320/DOOMWATCH.org+Fanzine+issue+1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5532336455473537634" />

For fans of the old, 1970s science-fiction series, Doomwatch, you won't want to miss this!Nick Redfernhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07199813303416083671noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1113730077075582759.post-39546569867665014732010-04-19T07:49:00.000-07:002010-04-19T07:53:40.838-07:00SFS At The Paracast<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 161px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEguu8NI96kM7UnxSF-B13jahtN6bijnww1nD8cDxEahfEqgjWhIbUz6IaqD_gvjPJx0dnzKvFCm2qgsLHdNfwYbyza4K-jC0vF5K93gsDdf6uTIzrk6nwBinZbVdsmy1lnrkFdyIb2VI98/s320/sfs-cover.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5461861848799991346" />

A few weeks ago, me, Paul Kimball and Paul Davids recorded an episode of The Paracast on the way in which the worlds of science-fiction and Ufology have crossed paths over the years - which, of course, is the subject of my Science Fiction Secrets book. The interview is now available for download and can be found right here. Most UFO researchers will admit to having a passing interest in science fiction be it in the visual medium or in print. I for one was brought up on the classic TV shows of Gerry Anderson, and it was his 1970 series UFO which sparked my interest in Ufology.

"Nick’s passion for both subjects shines through this work, and as the publicity states on the back of the book:

*Mix two parts science fiction with one part high level government secrecy
*Add a liberal helping of the paranormal
*Let Nick Redfern heat and serve...

"In the book, Nick looks at Government 'assistance' in the filming of Spielberg’s classic CE3K, FBI agents investigating the acclaimed writer of science fiction, Philip K. Dick, how did the “Lone Gunmen”, a spin-off series from the hugely popular “X-Files” predict the 9/11 disaster?

"These and many more instances such as the above are covered in the book. Although Nick now lives in the USA, you’d be forgiven thinking that the book was solely aimed at the American market. Not so! For inside the book are a number of chapters devoted to the UK and how the UK government perceives the UFO enigma.

"All in all, a pleasant book which covers some unusual aspects which have been ignored for too long, and the book is a welcome breath of fresh air. For anyone with an interest in UFOs and science fiction, it is a must read. I look forward to Nick’s next book, on alleged alien contact..."

And, on a related matter, the new issue of Fortean Times includes a serialized chapter from Science Fiction Secrets. Dick - Tour TodayGood friend Greg Bishop has the following to say about Philip K. Dick at UFOMystic; the blog we run together:

"C’mon, you don’t have a job. You don’t have anything to do Monday afternoon. You live in California, where mystic science fiction writer Philip K. Dick lived most of his adult life, specifically in Fullerton, where my friend (and co-founder of The Excluded Middle magazine) Robert Larson grew up.

"Robert will be leading a tour of his hometown, where he has painstakingly located many sites that Dick mentioned in his novels, including the apartment where the 'pink beam' of a Vast Active Living Intelligence System (or VALIS for short) allegedly struck Dick on February 3, 1974, changing his life forever.

"Dick did not take his strange experiences literally, at least not in the way that caused belief in one interpretation and stopped his personal evolution. In this way, he was much like psychologist Carl Jung, who was one of his inspirations. Coincidentally, Jung’s intensely personal journal known as the 'Red Book' will be published this fall."

Greg concludes: "Robert will meet Phil Dick seekers at the corner of East Chapman Avenue and North State College Boulevard in Fullerton at 3PM on September 21st. The event is sponsored by the League of Western Fortean Intermediatists (LOWFI) and is free, but donations for the tourguide will be accepted."

So, you may ask, why am I mentioning this here? Simple!

My new book, Science Fiction Secrets, includes a whole chapter on (A) Philip K. Dick's relationship with the FBI; (B) the Bureau's file on the man; and (C) letters from Dick to the G-Men - written in the 1970s - in which the famous author outlined his theories concerning a conspiracy of truly cosmic proportions that linked the world of science-fiction with ultra-right-wing groups...Nick Redfernhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07199813303416083671noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1113730077075582759.post-89000730770109568102009-09-18T04:56:00.001-07:002009-09-18T04:57:23.287-07:00C to C SummaryYou can find an online summary of the interview I did on Coast to Coast Wednesday night (on my Science Fiction Secrets book) right here.Nick Redfernhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07199813303416083671noreply@blogger.com0
